Medical Device Database – Project Brief:

Our client is a database of generic names used to identify all medical device products used in the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment, or alleviation of disease or injury in humans. Its main purpose is to provide health authorities and regulators, healthcare providers, and manufacturers with one universal naming system that can be used to exchange medical device information and support patient safety across different countries. 

The project necessitated the translation of new and updated names and definitions, with deliverables following provided guidance instructions. We proposed a workflow that involved the translation of names on hourly basis, the translation of definitions per word, and the revision of existing entries on an hourly basis. We started after the approval of name translations, and because of the low margin for error, the project was carried out by one translator and one reviser, with internal checks by Argos language lead dedicated to this client who prepared the instructions for translation.

The workflow was followed to the letter, and the client heartily approved of our efforts on the project.
