Technical Translation of Electric Turbines Documentation – Project Brief:

Recently, we were commissioned to carry out electric turbine document translations from Polish into English for an electrical equipment manufacturer. Because of the technical nature of the assignment, we also completed transcription and desktop publishing (DTP) work on top of the text translation.

The first batch of the project consisted of translating over 60,000 words on 240+ pages, including DTP work on complex technical drawings. We assigned teams of DTP specialists, localization engineers, translators, and project managers to complete the assignment in less than 2 months, meeting the client’s deadline in the process.

The project’s complex and technical nature required us to transcribe the source text from scans so that Trados could aid in the translation process, improving translation consistency over the target language. Simultaneously, the complex technical drawings required skilled handling in InDesign by our DTP specialists.

In the end, we successfully adapted all the content from Polish into English, enabling our client to use and distribute the materials in their target market of India.
